Mike Wirthlin

Dr. Mike Wirthlin is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at BYU. He has been actively involved in FPGA design for many years and is active in the FPGA design, architecture, and research communities. His research interests include FPGA reliability, fault tolerant computing, Configurable Computing Systems, high-level synthesis, and computer-aided design for application-specific computing. Dr. Wirthlin received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Brigham Young University (BYU) in 1992 and 1997 respectively. After completing his Ph.D., he worked as a Staff Research Engineer in the Systems Architecture Laboratory at National Semiconductor Corporation in Santa Clara, CA. He also worked at Xilinx Corporation for a summer sabbatical in 2005.
